For Prospective Students

Thank you for your interest in CBI!

Students who are currently in CBI Faculty Mentor labs are encouraged to reach out to their mentor about the program. Those whose mentors do not yet participate in the program can reach out to the program staff to inquire about getting involved with CBI. You are encouraged to look over current students' and faculty research to determine if CBI is the right fit for you. Interested students are welcome to take Chem 206: Chemistry of Biology Seminar, which is held quarterly and taught by CBI PI Dr. Patrick Harran. Fall and spring quarters center on current topics in Chemical Biology, while winter quarter current CBI trainees present their current research. The course is open to all students in the Chemistry Department. If you are not in the Chemistry Department please reach out to chemgrad@chem.ucla.edu.

Additionally, interested students are welcome to come to CBI Day, our annual symposium. 2024 CBI Day will be held on October 15th in YH4222. Please reach out to christinaung23@g.ucla.edu with any questions about the event.
